Leadership & Staff

Pastor Robert is from Mississippi but has made North Carolina home since the Marine Corps brought him here in 1997.  After serving five years as a Marine, he continued serving our country as a civilian working with the CH53E and MV22 Osprey aircraft.   In 2012, Robert began serving as the Associate Pastor at Tar Landing. He was selected as Senior Pastor in November of 2021.  Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Robert’s preaching ministry is verse-by-verse expositional preaching through books of the Bible while calling people to respond appropriately to God’s Word.  Robert and his wife, Sherri, have attended Tar Landing since 2002.  Together they have three daughters, Caroline, Grace, and Abby.  Robert loves his family, God’s Word, preaching, discipling men, hunting, and Alabama Football.
